This year the SEED project will coordinate three student environment days targeting grade 5 students in North East Victorian primary schools. The Student Environment Days have now been operating for nine years and during that time (to the end of 2016) we have hosted over 5000 students from more than 200 schools in North East Victoria. These students are the future caretakers of our planet, so it is great to know they have had the opportunity to learn from some of the top environmentalists in our area.
I would like to thank the many Natural Resource Management groups who continuously provide us with a huge variety of top class presenters who are so willing to volunteer their time and share their knowledge to help the students in the north east understand how the environment works and issues related to it. It is great to see some secondary schools taking on the Kids teaching Kids challenge to present at some of these days. An outline of some of the learning that can be achieved by secondary students presenting at a school environment day are outlined on the Secondary Schools page. If your school is interested in this possibility, please contact the Project Officer on 0357229232.
