Competition for Secondary Schools

ABC Splash is asking students to use their STEAM skills to create solutions to Australia’s waste problems!

Students need to identify and research one waste problem identified in ABC TV’s War on Waste and come up with a 90-second pitch for a solution that has been designed using STEAM thinking (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths).

YOUNG REPORTERS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

In 2017 KAB are launching our second Foundation for Environmental Education program, Young Reporters for the EnvironmentThis program engages students aged 11-21 in local environmental sustainability issues.   To kick start the program in Australia we have 10 x $500 grants on offer for high schools to implement a community action day to share their hard work and findings with their community.

The MYRTLEFORD Student Environment Day Event scheduled for April 27th, 2017 is now fully booked and cannot accept any more registrations.

Environment Day Event scheduled for October 24th, 2017 is now fully booked and can only accept very small numbers (e.g. a school green team - or a very small school)

The WODONGA 

Student Environment Day Event scheduled for August 10th, 2017 is still open for bookings.

  • Wangaratta - Wareena Park - Thursday 26th October

The registration form, dates and Venues for the 2017 School Environment days can be accessed here. Schools must register for these days. Proud of their School

SEED recently celebrated a number of milestones including its 5000th student and 200th school to attend a Student Environment Day and the 30th School Environment Day to be run by SEED. Congratulations to Sienna Trenerry from Wodonga Primary School for being the lucky 5000th student and to St. Francis of Assisi for winning the school competition. Congratulations also to Diane Doyle for having presented at all 30 of the Student Environment Days and for her contributions, dedication and leadership towards sustainability education.

CREATIVE CATCHMENT KIDS - VIEW AND VOTE

The Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre is delighted to announce that we are one of four finalists for a $50,000 grant from the Aussie Farmers Foundation.

We would love YOUR HELP to make our project, Aussie Farm Stories, a reality. If successful this project will allow us to expand our award-winning Creative Catchment Kids program to 50 more schools in rural and regional NSW including the  MIA . Students will connect with local farmers to produce a series of books based on sustainable agriculture, food security and food provenance.

 Help Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre connect Aussie Kids to Aussie Farmers. Please vote!
