The School Environment Day involved students from Chiltern Primary, Frayne College, Mitta Mitta Primary, Wodonga South Primary, St. Joseph's Beechworth, Stanley Primary, Wooragee Primary, Yackandandah Primary and the Albury Wodonga Home Schooling Group.
It involved a great team of presenters from NevRwaste, North East Water, North East Catchment Management Authority, Anything Solar, Cleanaway, the Department of Sustainability and Environment, RED, Landcare, Indigo Shire and Indigo North Community Health. Check out the pictures to see what they got up to:
The School Environment Day is held once per term in different Shires throughout the North East of Victoria, and provides a great opportunity for organisations to educate the community about their area of environmental sustainability and for schools to gain knowledge and understanding in these areas.
The SEED website provides many curriculum materials and links to further information to support the learning of both teachers and students in environmental education, enabling the learning from this day to continue back in the classrooms later. For information about the Student Environment Day, please contact Linda Anania, SEED Project Support Officer, on 03 5722 9232.
